Dr. Deborah Faria is a Full Professor at the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC) with extensive publications on biodiversity within agroforestry systems. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of São Paulo (USP) and completed her Master’s and Ph.D. in Ecology at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). A CNPq Research Fellow (Level 1B), Dr. Faria leads the Applied Ecology and Conservation Lab (LEAC) at UESC. Her research investigates the impacts of deforestation and habitat fragmentation on biodiversity and ecosystem functions within agricultural landscapes, with a particular focus on ecosystem services in agroforestry. Dr. Faria is also involved in projects advancing the regional bioeconomy, including initiatives on carbon and biodiversity credits.
