Social Finance Officer, International Labor Organization
Edgar works on the intersection between financial inclusion and the realization of fundamentals principles and rights at work. He supports the implementation of the ILO ACCEL Africa project aiming at the elimination of child labour in global supply chains in Africa. He has field experience developing innovative financial services for smallholder farmers and related value chain actors. Previously, he supported the ILO Impact Insurance Facility designing holistic risk management solutions for cocoa farmers in Côte d’Ivoire in partnership with the insurance and cocoa industry. He also worked with microfinance institutions in Ghana and Mozambique developing alternative distribution models to serve low-income market and rural populations.
Edgar holds a master's degree in rural development for southern countries and an engineer diploma in agriculture, both from Montpellier SupAgro in France.
