Dr. Emmanuel A. Opoku is a Ghanaian agricultural economist and an expert in Cocoa Economy and Management. He is a successful campaigner for sound and sustainable cocoa production in Africa. Dr. Opoku’s career path has been motivated by dedication and passion for developing the agro-economy in Ghana.
Dr. Emmanuel A. Opoku is an innovator, a researcher, and a consultant who has worked in the cocoa sector for 30 years in Ghana. His focus is on cocoa productivity, cocoa agroforestry, transparency and traceability, issues of child labor, and the digitization of the cocoa supply chain in Ghana.
He is currently the Deputy Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), in charge of Operations. Dr. Emmanuel A. Opoku has mentored and guided the career development of many young cocoa industry experts.
