Lieven Callewaert is a trained agriculture and business engineer, with a strong corporate background. He has more than 35 years of experience in leading and advising voluntary certification schemes and driving organisational change management processes along with building mergers and strategic alliances. He’s initiating and leading innovations aligned with new macro-economic tendencies like regenerative agriculture, circular economy and transitions to climate neutral businesses. In 2014-2017, he was the RTRS European Representative and fulfilled missions for many other sustainability initiatives such as RSPO, Bonsucro and Textile Exchange. He joined the RTRS Executive Committee in 2018 representing a consortium of food companies such as (Unilever, Arla Foods and others) and was appointed RTRS President in 2021. In this role, he looks for broader collaboration and is one of the founders and the chair the Collaborative Soy Initiative (CSI).
