Country Director, Ghana, World Cocoa Foundation
Mawuli Coffie is Country Director for the WCF Ghana Office. With an extensive background in international development and management spanning over two decades, he has a proven track record in successfully leading and managing complex donor-funded development programmes in over 13 Sub-Saharan African countries, targeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. His expertise lies in maintaining scalable development models and fostering innovation in delivery, impact and inclusive development.
Mawuli brings a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to advancing cocoa sustainability in the region. Prior to joining WCF he was the SME and Entrepreneurship Development Director at ACDI/VOCA - the global leader in market systems development, working with the USAID Feed the Future Ghana Trade and Investment (GTI) Activity. He has previously worked as the Director of Corporate and Business Strategy for Sundoulos Advanced Leadership Training (SALT) Institute and was the National Project Manager (Cocoa Derived Products) for the International Trade Centre (ITC), where he worked closely with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ghana Cocoa Board to conduct a policy review and analysis to give local processors access to premium cocoa beans at fair prices.
He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Walden University, a Master of Science, Economics and International Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Friendship University, Russia.
