Paul Ramirez

Paul is Investment Officer at Mirova Natural Capital and currently is leading project origination in Latam. With ten years experience in REDD+ and carbon markets, Paul has been involved in all investment cycle including project origination, assessment, design and development, to transaction structuring and deal management.

Paul previous experience includes working in dry forest and tropical forest ecosystem with extensive project and field experience in forest management and agriculture sector. Paul has been part of the design and implementation of several REDD+ initiatives in Peru, structuring financial mechanisms to involve private investors in avoided deforestation projects under a protection - sustainable production approach in areas with high conservation values.

Paul focuses on leading deals for Mirova Natural Capital throughout the investment cycle, including origination, transaction structuring and portfolio management across growth stage opportunities in Latam.

Before joining Mirova Natural Capital, Paul was the Project Manager of Tambopata Bahuaja Sonene REDD+ Project in Peru where he managed the team that restore 1,250 hectares of pasture and turn into cocoa agroforestry systems and protect 570,000 hectares of pristine forest in the forest Amazon of Perú.

Paul has lifelong interest in conservation, wildlife and social development. He holds an engineer degree in Business Management and an MBA in Environmental Business.
