Associate Director, Head of Cocoa Climate Sustainability, Mars
Pedro Amaral serves as the Associate Director - Head of Cocoa Climate Sustainability at Mars. His role involves leading the global efforts to meet the commitments outlined in the Mars Sustainable in a Generation Plan, focused on the Healthy Planet Pillar as it relates to cocoa. This includes addressing environmental concerns such as climate impact, deforestation, land use, and water management. With over 15 years of expertise in sustainability, Pedro previously held the position of Deputy Director at Proforest and served as the Climate Change and Sustainability Manager at ICF. Pedro, an Agronomic Engineer with an M.Sc. in environmental planning from Brazil, comes from the energetic mega city of São Paulo. Despite his urban roots, he spent a significant portion of his upbringing on his family farm in the countryside of the state.
