Advisor, GIZ programme SAFE – Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems
Vera Köppen works as an advisor in the GIZ programme SAFE – Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems. In that role she acts as a liaison person and supports the country teams in Cameroon, Peru and Uganda as well as activities on regional level in Africa. In addition, she is the focal point for the cooperation with the private sector within SAFE.
Before her current position, Vera has worked in the area of sustainable value chains for more than 15 years holding different positions in various organizations including the German Initiative for Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO), Fair Wear Foundation and Fairtrade International.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Business Administration from Cologne Business School and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies from the University of Uppsala.
