Director of Fight Against Child Labor and Executive Secretary of Interministerial Committee for the Fight Against Trafficking, Exploitation, and Child Labor, Ministry of Employment and Social Protection
An expert on issues of juvenile social maladjustment, children’s rights, and protection, Dr. Martin N’GUETTIA held successive positions between 1998 and 2012 as a social worker; Trainer at the National Institute of Social Training in Abidjan; University Assistant Professor and Lecturer-Researcher at the Criminology Faculty of Felix Houphouët-Boigny University in Cocody, Abidjan. Since March 2012, he has been the Director of the Fight Against Child Labor at the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection; Executive Secretary of the Interministerial Committee for the Fight Against Trafficking, Exploitation, and Child Labor; and, since 2020, the National Focal Point for the Alliance 8.7 for Côte d’Ivoire. In this capacity, he coordinates and ensures the implementation of several government programs to combat trafficking, exploitation, and child labor in Côte d’Ivoire, including the Observation and Monitoring System of Child Labor in Côte d’Ivoire (SOSTECI), which is the mechanism for monitoring, early warning, prevention, and remediation.
