Theresa Ameyaa

Theresa Ameyaa is a dedicated Cocoa Farmer in Asunafo North Cooperative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Union, where she is also a member. Madam Theresa Ameyaa is the Premium committee Chairperson of the Asunafo-North Union and an HREDD Committee member of the same Union. She holds a master’s degree in educational administration and worked as a teacher for twenty-nine years. She embarked on her Cocoa farming journey in 2012, when she was a teacher.

Madam Theresa Ameyaa oversees the activities of the Union level Premium committee including the receipt and disbursement of premiums to members in the organization. Her efforts have helped the Union maintain its certification and improve transparency and ethical practices and a more digitalized way of disbursing premiums.

As an HREDD Committee member and the chairperson of the Union Premium committee, she delivers capacity-building sessions with the assistance of the Union Certification teams on financial literacy training, Human rights and Women empowerment to boost the socio -economic life of members.

Theresa Ameyaa’s involvement in various workshops and a graduate of the Women’s School of Leadership (WSOL) has provided a lot of insights into the challenges and opportunities within the small holder farmers for women. Theresa Ameyaa is more knowledgeable about women empowerment, leadership, and a lead trainer too in the Asunafo North Cooperative Union.
