Chairwoman of the Board, SCAMED COOP-CA
Ms. Kouakou Florence Coulibaly Cathy, the passionate ambassador of the rural world and Ivorian cocoa.
From the large amphitheater of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Abidjan to the lush paths of the Haut-Sassandra plantations, Ms. Kouakou Florence Coulibaly Cathy's journey is a true ode to passion and commitment. Graduated in Modern Literature, she could have chosen a traditional literary career. Instead, she decided to embrace the land and the men and women who bring it to life.
With 18 years of experience in the rural world, Mrs. Kouakou has established herself as a key expert in Ivorian cocoa farming. Her intellectual rigor, inherited from her university training, naturally led her to excellence in international standards. As early as 2009, she became an auditor for major certification programs such as UTZ Certified, Rainforest Alliance, and Fairtrade. In this role, she ensures good agricultural practices, environmental respect, and social fairness for producers.
Today, she brings her vision directly to the field. As Chairwoman of the Board (PCA) of SCAMED COOP-CA in Vavoua, in the heart of the Haut-Sassandra Region, she leads this successful cooperative specializing in the production and marketing of cocoa beans and raw cashew nuts. Under her leadership, the cooperative isn’t just limited to simple collection. Strategic project management: She implements initiatives focused on diversifying agricultural income. Local processing: She drives transformation projects around cocoa to add value to the product locally. Her actions directly and positively affect over 1,663 producers, their families, and their communities.
Ms. Kouakou Florence Coulibaly Cathy perfectly embodies the blend of agricultural tradition and entrepreneurial modernity. A hands-on woman, a rigorous auditor, and an inspiring leader, she proves every day that the future of Ivorian agriculture relies on sustainability, community empowerment, and valuing the local value chain.
