Project Director, Verite - COFFEE Project
Antonio Rosa is the Director of the COFFEE Project, a role he has held since 2022. In this capacity, he oversees the implementation of the COFFEE Toolkit and leads pilot projects across Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. His work also extends to initiatives in Brazil’s Carnauba and Sugarcane sectors, driving sustainability and ethical labour practices.
In 2019, Antonio founded the Decent Work Institute (Instituto Trabalho Decente – ITD), a Brazilian NGO dedicated to advancing decent work across the country. As President of ITD for three years, he spearheaded research on labour and human rights across multiple industries, including sugarcane, cocoa, charcoal, palm oil, orange juice, garments, and coffee.
With over 15 years of experience at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Brazil, Antonio played a pivotal role in coordinating international technical cooperation projects focused on forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, and the promotion of decent work. His extensive expertise in labour rights and supply chain ethics continues to shape policies and initiatives aimed at fostering fair and sustainable work environments.
