Chief Executive Officer, Black Jaguar Foundation
Ben Valks is the initiator of the Black Jaguar Foundation (BJF), a nonprofit realising the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor in the heart of Brazil. The holistic approach combines environmental restoration, social impact, and economic resilience to create a sustainable future for nature, communities, and businesses.
Driven by passion and a can-do mentality, the Black Jaguar Foundation is working on one of the largest ecological restoration projects in the world. Over the next two decades, the aim is to restore 1 million hectares of degraded land by planting 1.7 billion native trees, together with local landowners, communities, and farmers. The corridor, stretching 2,600 kilometres, will reconnect and restore the Amazon Rainforest and Cerrado Savana in Brazil. A mission of hope and action.
With passion, determination, and collective action, we can and will make a difference.
