Joost Gorter

Joost Gorter is the Global Director ESG of ACT, a leading provider of market-based sustainability solutions, focused on helping companies achieve ambitious climate targets. Before that Joost was a partner with sustainability consultancy NewForesight, where he worked for ten years, working to transform agricultural commodity sectors towards sustainable outcomes. As such he was involved in many different industries, from coffee to palm oil and from tea to cut flowers. Much of his work was focused on the cocoa industry, where he worked closely with WCF and its stakeholders in West Africa, South America, and Indonesia. He also advised nearly all of the key cocoa and chocolate companies on their sustainability strategies. Finally, he developed a passion for hosting events that seek to progress the debate on what really leads to a more sustainable sector - like the WCF Partnership Meeting.
