Country Manager - Ghana, Alliance for Action
Larry Attipoe is a key member of the UN International Trade Centre (ITC)’s global agribusiness team and is currently the Africa Regional Coordinator of ITC’s value chain interventions in cocoa and coffee. He is also a part of the core team of ITC working on the operationalisation of Mandatory Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence requirements in global value chains.
He was previously the Technical Portfolio Manager of Palladium International on the UKAid-funded West Africa Food Markets (WAFM) Programme to catalyse smallholder inclusion in selected agro value chains in Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Niger and facilitate trade along two key trade corridors in West Africa.
As the International Development Director of Fairtrade International, Larry oversaw the design and implementation of strategies and programmes that optimized the benefits of Fairtrade to producers and traders in the Fairtrade system and contributed to the development of Fairtrade’s capacity building programmes towards resilient producer organisations and networks.
Before joining Fairtrade International, Larry spent 10 years at SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, where he became, for five years, the Country Director in Zimbabwe and Head of SNV’s Agriculture Sector Programme in East and Southern Africa.
A passionate believer in sustainable value chain development and other inclusive, holistic approaches to developing Africa’s agribusiness, Larry has contributed to the capacity building of entrepreneurs, organizations, and systems to tap into the opportunities in global value chains for wealth creation and poverty reduction.
