Director, Cocoa Partnerships, The Hershey Company
Tim McCoy is Director, Cocoa Partnerships, at The Hershey Company. In this role, he is responsible for leading Hershey’s strategic engagements with origin country governments, industry associations, and broader policy influencers. He also oversees Hershey’s initiative to build public primary schools in Côte d’Ivoire, in partnership with the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) and the National Oversight Committee for Actions to Fight Child Labor, Trafficking and Exploitation. Tim represents Hershey’s on a range of industry and multistakeholder working groups, including the EU Cocoa Coalition, Caobisco technical experts working group on EUDR, Child Labor Cocoa Coordinating Group and ICI’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He serves as one of two industry representatives on the steering committee of the Child Learning and Education Facility (CLEF) coalition that is improving education quality and school infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire.
Prior to joining Hershey’s, Tim served from 2012 to 2021 in a variety of leadership roles at the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF), including as Interim President in 2016 and from 2019 to 2021 as WCF’s Abidjan-based Vice President for Country Relations and Côte d’Ivoire Country Director. Over a career spanning 30 years, he has focused on driving solutions to deliver political and business development impact across the African continent. For work and in pursuit of his passion for travel, Tim has visited more than 70 countries around the world and has lived and worked in Côte d’Ivoire, France, New Zealand, Switzerland, Zambia, and the United States. He is an 11th-generation American who grew up on a family-owned and operated smallholder dairy farm in Tennessee.
