Thiago Guedes holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the State University of Santa Cruz (UESC), a specialization in Environmental Management and Forestry Systems from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), and a master’s degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainability from IPÊ/ESCAS–UNICAMP. Currently is pursuing a PhD in Industrial Engineering at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).
He has extensive experience coordinating territorial development programs, implementing sustainable agricultural projects, and managing public policies related to Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER). He has held leadership roles in national agroforestry and organic production bodies, including the Brazilian Agroforestry Systems Society and the National Commission for Organic Production. He has also served on national and state councils related to agroecology, environment, and agriculture, coordinated the Low-Carbon Agriculture Plan of the State of Bahia (ABC+ Bahia), and acted as Chief of Staff at the Bahia State Secretariat of Agriculture. He is currently Director of the Executive Commission of the Cocoa Farming Plan (CEPLA), an agency of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Federal Government of Brazil.
